Impactes climàtics, percepcions i actituds a la societat rural catalana a l'època moderna
Keywords:
Historical climatology, peasant’s handbooks, Catalonia, XVI- XVIII centuries.Abstract
The objective of this paper is to show how peasant books or notebooks can impact the perception of and the attitude towards adverse weather conditions in Modern rural Catalan society. The evidence of the anxiety and even resignation with respect to bad weather conditions does not forestall the appearance of strategies to limit their effect. The presence of anxiety in everyday life is closely related to popular religious practices. On the other hand, in areas of crop diversity, adverse weather conditions did not significantly condition agricultural income.
