Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine in depth the characterisation from a lexicographical, documentary and ―especially― geographical point of view of a selection of words attested in the 17th century and located in the linguistic domain of Andalusian dialects by comparing and analysing the data obtained from two sources with a markedly diatopic character: The Corpus Léxico de Inventarios (CorLexIn) and the Atlas lingüístico y etnográfico de Andalucía (ALEA), as well as other lexicographical repertoires and sources with a differential character. In this way, we intend to show ―and demonstrate― how two apparently disparate resources from both a temporal and methodological perspective can become useful and complementary tools when approaching the study of the Andalusian lexicon as opposed to traditional sources with a general character.
