Sintaxis de la prosa del instante: La lengua de una tradición efímera en los albores del siglo XIX

Abstract

This contribution deals with a broad array of morphosyntactic phenomena present in petitory letters addressed to the Junta Suprema, the Spanish governing organ between fall 1808 and winter 1809. The variational status of those phenomena is compared to that manifest in highly elaborate prose from the initial third of the 19^th century. The results help in identifying those grammatical phenomena that were being most and least promoted by the end of Early Modern Spanish (ca. 1675-1825) and shed light on the morphosyntactic makeup of epistolary and administrative discourse traditions in that period.
