Abstract

Throughout the preconceptional consultation performed by the Midwife from the services to Sexual and Reproductive Health’s care, prevention and promotion of the health activities are performed, which pursue the aim of identifying and modifying
biomedical, behavioral and social risks, both maternal and paternal, before the conception, with the purpose of increasing the possibilities of a favorable perinatal result.
There are few pregnant women who go to the preconception examination having in mind that half of the pregnancies are unplanned, despite the benefit that it would suppose in a
biopsychosocial level. The objective of our job is to carry out a bibliographical revision about the activities in the preconception consults with the purpose of updating the action guidelines and foster their implementation.
