Una parte importante del trabajo de Guattari se presenta como un pensamiento ecosófico, engendrador de una filosofía política que se coloca abiertamente en relación con el territorio. Sin embargo, no se trata de un conjunto de ideas verdes sobre la emergencia medioambiental y la crisis del ecosistema global, sino de una mirada crítica sobre las condiciones de sobreexplotación del capitalismo y la aceleración de las mutaciones técnico-científicas, en diferentes niveles.
