Abstract

Due to the work and efforts of people from different countries, including Laura Rubio Serrano, professor at Universitat de Barcelona, Service-Learning is a constant nowadays, not only for its pedagogical value, but also for its social value and its solidarity. This paper presents three experiences of Service-Learning, diverse in terms of grades, courses and nature of the subjects, and indicators of the pedagogical and social value of SL in higher education are offered, which extend to the three agents involved: students, professionals from the participating entities and university professors. Thus, it is possible to fulfil the three missions of universities: training future professionals, knowledge building, and social responsibility. Offering, from universities, training situated in professional practice that attempts to respond to the felt needs of society may not be possible only through participation in SL projects; however, there is no doubt that doing so through this methodology is a guarantee of achievement and quality
