Abstract

The pages of al-Iḥāṭa, al-Lamḥa and al-Miʽyār where Ibn al-Jaṭīb describes the city of Granada, and its contours are fundamental for the knowledge of Nasrid aristocratic properties. Arabists and medievalists have used translations that are not accurate to date enough, so in this study a new interpretation is proposed considering the new multidisciplinary research that is being carried out within the framework of national and international projects in which the authoress participates. Likewise, this work demonstrates the convenience of carrying out the analysis of these three works together, given the enormous difficulty presented by their syntax, and the relevance of addressing the terminology that describes these elite estates, relating it to their original name, “almunia”.
