About the Journal
ARA: JOURNAL OF TOURISM RESEARCH
The ARA: JOURNAL OF TOURISM RESEARCH is an editorial project of the Tourism, Hospitality, and Gastronomy Research Group (TURHOGA) of the Barcelona School of Tourism, Hospitality, and Gastronomy (CETT), University of Barcelona (UB). It is an academic journal of international dissemination, indexed and disseminated in electronic format in various national and international databases that has been published continuously since 2008.
Its field of specialization revolves around the geographical perspective of tourism and the resulting spatial interrelationships. ARA: Tourism Research Journal welcomes submissions from basic to applied sciences. It invites researchers from all academic disciplines around the world to contribute to the following subjects (included, but not limited to):
- Planning and Sustainable Management of Tourism Destination
- Territorial Innovation and Digitalization
- Smart Tourism or Smart Destinations
- Mobility and Tourism Sustainability
- Tourism Marketing
- Governance and Regional Management
- Tourism Law and Policies
- Personalization of tourist experiences at the destination
The Journal seeks to deepen and disseminate the understanding of the network of relationships between tourism and sustainable community development through the publication of papers on applied and scientific research.
As an international journal, it accepts original contributions that reflect perspectives by authors from all countries in English, Spanish, and Catalan languages. The title and the abstract will always be published in both languages. ARA Journal of Tourism Research publishes a volume of articles annually.
Why ARA?
In the Taino language, one of the aboriginal languages of the Caribbean, the term ARA means tree and people, as well as other meanings. ARA is a symbol of the Caribbean identity and its origins, as well as a universal symbol having a positive message.
