Per una pietà a-venire. Derrida e Zambrano
Keywords:
Hospitality, Pity, AestheticAbstract
«Il faut trembler,» says Derrida and what must quake like an earthquake are the constructions of thought. It happens that these constructions, while quaking, ruin on each other so that something absolutely new and unexpected takes shape: a phantom.
They are spectres, phantoms, says Derrida, those who generate them- selves «ones ideas or thoughts are detached from their substratum».2 They do not repeat what has already been, but are a new body, a mixed and plural body made up of parts – ideas or thoughts – of different origin. The hypothesis of the essay is to let quaking Derrida’s reflection on hospitality and Zambrano’s reflection on pity in order to think about crucial issues in our time such as membership, community, friendship, hospitality, feeling.
