Unheimliche, experience of exile, time, Freud, ZambranoAbstract
The aim of this essay is to compare the experience of displacement and the concept of Unheimliche, as it is developed by Freud in his famous essay of 1919, with the experience of exile as the literal place of displacement, which is the origin of an extended and detailed reflection of Zambrano. The analysis of the uncanny and the unfamiliar in the two authors shows some analogies and correspondences, but each leads to very different outcomes.
