This article discusses the evolution and different phases of Peninsular migration to the Balearic Islands, from the 1930s to the end of the 1970s. It analyses the diverse origins of migrants, as well as their territorial distribution throughout the Islands. The paper also looks at the significant social and linguistic consequences of this kind of migration, mostly involving Spanish-speaking working-class citizens.Downloads
