Abstract

Memory is a complex of meanings and actions influenced by the needs of a mind that seeks to legitimize itself in the past through remmembrance. These varied interpretations can break strongly in funerals tributes and commemorations of intellectuals, being where lead times in the same place numerous tensions and
disputes over symbolic capital determined. From the reflections of intellectual history, From the reflections of intellectual history addressing the need to analyze the characteristics of these civic rituals, to questioning how these events are useful for shaping thinking intellectual genealogies.
