Abstract

and forms in Northern Catalonia which the authors had begun earlier. First the reasons for the evolution of the intellectual and political process in northern Catalonia were made known and exposed, with their own characteristics in relation to the European context, now this essay recalls the evolution of “Catalanism” in a more synthetic way between the years following the post-war decade of the twenties and the seventies. It deals with two very different stages in which the process advances quite quickly along with the political, social and cultural transformations. One of the main objectives of this body of work is to bring to life the reality of the North taking in account the adjacent, but at the same time very different, reality of the State and the interweaving perspectives of the South. Once again, it is an analytical essay that tries to reflect on some aspects of the Principality and the rest of the Catalan territories; even inside the Northern region of Catalonia, which were often ommited or not well understood
