Abstract

In this text will be made a presentation of how the Catalan identity can be analyzed from the geographical knowledge of the landscapes of Catalonia. Firstly, the paper will start for a theoretical reflection on the concept "identity". Secondly, will continue with the discussion of the landscape concept and its relationship with the identity. The third part is a brief analysis of the history of the human geography of Catalonia (from a historical and cultural perspective) during the period 1870-1939 (approximately) and like this has kept on creating some identity landscapes, for ending with some general reflections.
