Abstract

The Literary Cercle of Vic brought together the best of the society from Vic during most of the second half of the XIX century. A place of intellectual sociability, which also operated as a platform for intervention of a local elite in ascendancy. The article introduces the context and the incentives which gave form to the entity, the profile of their members and the activities which they developed.
