Abstract

This paper analyses the historical context and circumstances in which the Historia de Cataluña y de la Corona de Aragón was written by Víctor Balaguer and published by Salvador Manero. The paper examines aspects relating to the publication, the cultural context, the author’s intentions, the criticism he received, and the interpretations put forward of him and his work.
