The current research task of the Intellectual and Cultural History Group (GEHCI) focuses on cultural agents, mainly in the Catalan-speaking area. In this issue we want to open up this framework to the remaining Mediterranean and European countries. We seek to offer a broad and comprehensive view of the phenomenon, analyzing the importance of different cultural means and the intervention of intellectuals in the creation of networks and spaces of sociability, from elites to the consolidation of different political cultures.
