Keywords:

This article discusses the changes among young members of family farmers in the Pampas region of Argentina considering both households and the economic activity. The main changes take place in relation to family/labor relationships, which include the increase in family workers’ compensation situations, particularly with the son of farmers. These changes led to develop new conflicts as well as new arrangements between parents and children dealing with inheritance or replacement between generations. There exists a variety of arrangements according to the characteristics of each household in which youngsters are retained by granting some kind of remuneration for their work on the farm, thus delaying the time of inheritance.Downloads
