Abstract

One of the main aims of this research is to contribute to generating an improvement in the sexual and reproductive health care (SRHC) of migrant women through the introduction of a comprehensive and gender perspective in the Catalan health system. Specifically, between March 2019 and May 2020, based on the application of qualitative and quantitative research techniques, different perspectives of the SRHC have been analyzed: from migrant women cared for by the system, to the social professionals who accompany them. and cultural mediators who bridge the gap between the orders of cultural significance, to the health professionals who make up the SRHC. The goal is to understand the needs of the agents mentioned, to enrich the SRHC and to deepen behaviors experienced as ambiguous -such as the presence of a son / daughter in the consultation to translate, the lack of an active response to gender-based violence- and phenomena social -prejudices and discriminations- that occur in the process of reproductive health, from the perspective of the people analyzed.
The results emphasize intercultural communicative interactions as a determining factor in reducing barriers that hinder the relationship between agents.
