During the terrible years in which Spain was involved in a bloody civil war, and even from the previous stage, in the Second Republic, the advertising poster became an indispensable political propaganda tool at the service of two opposing sides not only ideologically, but also militarily. In this way, the posters were leaving aside their commercial character, to become loudspeakers through which people were recruited for the army, warned about infiltrated enemies, encouraged the population to work for victory, and even gave recommendations of an educational and social nature. Therefore, analyzing what this contest was, as well as its socioeconomic and religious aspects, using a wide variety of posters from those years, can be an innovative didactic experience not only for the students, but also for the teaching staff.
