Abstract

This work focuses on the mechanisms of sexuation and subjectivation involved in the construction of the nation. Some have claimed that there is a “delay” of certain social groups in relation to the arrival of “modernity”, referring mainly to extra- European subjects but also to women. Actually, there is no delay, neither of women nor of the colonized peoples, regarding the question of modernity, since its norm has been established in an arbitrary way from a position of hegemonic dominance from Western modernity.
