No. 10-11 (2016): Bosch al país de l'art
This double issue of Matèria was published to mark the international symposium “Bosch al país de l’art”, which was held in Barcelona in April 2016. It featured 17 contributions on Hieronymus Bosch and the reach, effects and possible interpretations of his work. The issue introduced us to the extraordinary universe of the man that art historian Rosa Alcoy has described as “a true troubadour of painting”: a man who depicted his and other people’s worlds in numerous works, who shook up the 15th- and 16th-century panorama of painting and who continues to arouse immense interest today.
