Editorial Policy

Pedralbes is aimed at an international audience of specialists in the study of Modern History, as well as history students and those passionate about the study of history in general. The objective of the journal is to publish unpublished research on the Early Modern period (15th-18th centuries), covering topics from the local level to aspects of the early globalization. The journal accepts original contributions written in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Italian, and Portuguese. Its editorial board and advisory board consist of prominent academics from both national and international backgrounds, including specialists in political, cultural, economic, and social history, selected to ensure gender balance among historians.

The journal does not charge any fees for publishing an article.

Periodicity

One volume is published each year, with the exception of volumes that collect the proceedings of the congress on modern Catalan history, which are held every 4/5 years. The last date for the submission of article proposals for evaluation for the corresponding annual volume will be announced through a notice published on this website. This date usually falls between January 31st and March 1st. Volumes are published between November 1st and December 31st each year.

Exceptionally, 2 volumes will be published in a year to disseminate conference proceedings within the field of Modern History at the University of Barcelona.
