This article is the result of a careful reading of María Zambrano’s text about Italian neorealism from 1952. The intention is to draw connections between her thoughts and the other voices that have intervened in a relevant way in the debate on film realism. Special mention should be made of two authors, Roberto Rossellini and André Bazin, who formulated the ontological and epistemological bases of Neorealism, which are still valid today. Rather than a closed conclusion, it is a question of opening up new ways of accessing the study of film creation from the perspective of María Zambrano’s thoughts.
