Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The works can’t be more than 20 pages long A-4 size, written
    on one side of the page only, double space (30 lines per 70 spaces), font size 12. Included within these limits are the notes, the tables, the graphics and the appendix.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines:

1) The collaborations, written in English, Catalan, Spanish, French,
Italian or Portuguese, must be sent to Jordi Casassas Ymbert, director of
Cercles. A Journal of Cultural History, Faculty of Geography and History,
Montalegre 6, 08001 Barcelona. Or by email: revista.cercles@ub.edu

2) Cercles. A Journal of Cultural History publishes articles,
essays and bibliographic reviews on any aspect of the history of culture
and intellectuals.

3) Authors promise to send original articles that must not have been previously published elsewhere, and must not be pending publication by another journal.

4) The articles will be assessed by two external specialists through
a “blind reading” (anonymous for both the assessor and the writer). After
this, all texts must receive approval from the Editorial Board.

5) The editors promise to take a decision about the publication of
an article within a maximum period of six months. Once the text has been
accepted, the journal has two years to publish it depending on editorial needs.

6) Originals must be submitted in triplicate, with an abstract that is
a maximum of 100 words including five key words. The personal
information about the author should be added in the computer version along
with a brief CV (in Word format).

7) The texts must not be longer than 20 pages A-4 size, written
on one side of the page only, double-spaced (30 lines per 70 spaces).
Included within these limits are the notes, tables, graphics,
appendices, etc.

order.
