Keywords:

This article focuses on Joan Estelrich’s contribution to the establishment of a humanistic discourse in early 1930s Europe, in the context of conservative and classically-oriented platforms for intellectual cooperation, which emerged during the interwar period (and in which he was heavily involved). The humanist aspect of Majorcan intellectual Estelrich (1896-1958) is analysed, and more particularly his effort to bring to the fore the Catalan question within the Mediterranean cultural space, through his contribution to a series of conferences and symposia which took place in Nîmes (April 1932), Rome (November 1932), Monaco (November 1935), Marseilles (April 1935), and Budapest (June 1936).Downloads
