This issue of Cercles. A Journal of Cultural History is the result of a research seminar held in November 2013 by GEHCI in order to analyze the interrelationships between migration, cultural change and the notion of citizenship in contemporary Catalonia (1920-1980). The articles, which focus on fields as varied as history, sociology, anthropology, philology and urban planning, are written by renowned specialists such as José Luis Oyon, Albert Balcells, Dasca Maria Clara Carme and Antoni Parramon Marimon. The issue also includes works by young researchers who approach different aspects of history and explore leading figures like Joan Maragall and Manuel Vázquez Montalbán from new perspectives.
