Abstract
This article presents some questions which were noticed and analyzed during an ethnographic research that studies recovery processes of people who get over a depression. The very first part of the text proposes an analysis about depression´s multicausality through the perspective of feminist and corporal anthropology. Fur this purpose, it’s analyzed how different socio and cultural structures of inequality (gender, age and social class) that affect people, become factors which facilitate the emergence of a social malaise that is embodied in individual persons. An issue that, on certain occasions, takes the form of a depression.
The second part of this article deals with the recovery of the lost well-being through agency concept, to understand with greater complexity the personal and collective empowerment in the whole health-disease process. Besides, particular attention is given to bodily practices as necessary tools for the activation and the achievement of this recovery.
