Review of the collective work Cultura turística i identitats múltiples a les Illes Balears (Touristic Culture and Multiple Identities in the Balearic Islands, in English), which delves into the relationships between tourism and culture in the archipelago combining historical and interdisciplinary perspectives. In this paper, I highlight the main contributions and limitations of a book that contributes to key debates in Anthropology of Tourism, and it is also appropriate to discuss about the approximation of culture which Cultural Studies have mainstreamed into the social sciences of our century, History and Anthropology included.
KEY WORDS: Anthropological Critique, Cultural Studies, Touristic Culture, Imaginaries, Balearic Islands.
