Many minoritized groups have barriers to accessing different areas of life such as studies, work, leisure or social relationships. When intersectionality is claimed, disabling conditions are rarely included, and within these, neurodivergences. Ableism refers to social and normalized violence, which overvalues certain functions and undervalues others, promoting, towards these last ones, prejudice, stigma, discrimination and exclusion. This article narrates how ableism influences people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder -ADH(D)-. Currently, there is a lot of misinformation about ADH(D), reproducing different myths in the health community and other social spaces. This article highlights both the myths and the importance of knowing and applying the neurodiversity model, updating as professionals and people on ADH(D) and questioning the barriers and privileges present in our sociocultural context. Throughout it, it possible to reflect on attitudes and methodologies of daily life, which foster dynamics of exclusion towards ADH(D) people.
KEY WORDS: ADHD; inclusion; health; ableism; neurodiversity.
