A- Procedure for sending articles
1.- Those interested in publishing in On the w@terfront should send their contributions in Word format by e-mail to waterfront@ub.edu. Together with the article they should send the author's file (See Checklist).
 
2.  To ensure anonymity in the review process, the author must remove all references to the author(s) from the text, changing the author's name to "AUTHOR". In addition, you must ensure that the author's identification has also been removed from the file properties when the file is a Microsoft Office document.
You can submit the article whenever you consider it relevant, as the reception of articles is permanent.
 
B.- Evaluation of the articles
Once the article has been received, it will be externally peer-reviewed. Whether the article is rejected or accepted, the author will receive the results of the evaluation by e-mail. 
This evaluation process can take an estimated two to three months. 
 
C- Types of articles
The content of On the w@terfront is mainly composed of scientific articles, especially those derived from academic research. 
 
The structure generally used in these articles is: introduction, theoretical framework, methodology, results and their analysis, conclusions and bibliographical references.
 
This section also includes articles in which the author presents, analyses or evaluates a specific scientific-technical, historical, architectural, etc. topic that makes a relevant contribution to knowledge.  It contains a relevant, appropriate and theoretically documented argument, as well as a clear methodological procedure and appreciable conclusions.
 
 
D- Requirements for articles
Articles must meet the following requirements:
 
  • Unpublished work: Texts submitted for publication must be unpublished (not previously published).
  • Details of the author(s): Full name(s) and surname(s), institutional affiliation or place of work and contact address. ORCID affiliation. In addition, a mini CV (60 words maximum) of the author(s) must be attached, indicating: higher academic degree, profession, institution where he/she works, functions, country and e-mail, which will be published together with the article in case of a positive evaluation.
  • File format: The file must be sent in text format (doc, docx or rtf) in Spanish, Catalan, French, English, French, Portuguese or Spanish.
  • Length: On the w@terfront gives priority to illustrated articles (with the author's own photographs) of between 8,000 and 40,000 words.
  • Summary/Abstract in the original language and at least in Spanish, if possible also in Catalan.
  • It also gives priority to long summaries, between 500 and 1,000 words, to facilitate the search on the servers.
  • Typeface: Calibri Light 12 exact spacing 18.  
  • In general, footnotes should be explanatory notes and should not be used for bibliographical citations.
  • Graphic material: Photos, figures, graphs, tables and/or diagrams, etc. should be numbered and indicate titles or explanatory captions related to the subject of the article and the provenance (author and/or source, year, p.00). They must also be inserted in the text in their approximate location.
  • Format of the graphic material: Send in separate files; minimum resolution of 300 dpi/ dpi and 600 for grayscale in jpg format.
  • Tables: Tables must be in text format, included in the body of the paper and following APA 7th edition rules.
  • Responsibility: The author is responsible for acquiring the rights and/or authorisations for reproduction of illustrations taken from other sources.
