Contorns nuclears d’oracions declaratives i interrogatives en castellà produïts per parlants de mandarí amb una competència avançada en castellà

Aquest estudi va modelar dinàmicament els contorns nuclears del castellà produït per 16 estudiants mandarins i 9 parlants nadius de castellà d'un corpus de parla obtingut mitjançant una discourse completion task. Les oracions en investigació van incloure declaratives (focus ampli, categòric i correctiu) i interrogatives absolutes (informatives, confirmatòries i preguntes de l’apèndix). Els estudiants xinesos (a) no van aconseguir distingir la declaració categòrica de la declaració amb focus correctiu utilitzant configuracions nuclears correctes; (b) van produir els accents nuclears més alts i síl·labes àtones més baixa que els hispanoparlants; i (c) van mostrar tons de frontera incorrectes a causa de la influència de l'accentuació de la paraula nuclear. Aquest estudi va proporcionar dades empíriques a la teoria de l’aprenentatge prosòdic de L2 al mostrar que les dificultats de l’adquisició de la prosòdia L2 no només es deriven de les diferències/similituds entre la L1 i la L2 a nivell fonològic; els detalls fonètics també són importants. A més, atès que fins i tot els estudiants amb domini avançat del castellà van mostrar dificultats en la prosòdia, es requereixen paradigmes adequats d'entrenament prosòdic en la pràctica docent.
