Contornos nucleares de oraciones declarativas e interrogativas en español producidos por hablantes de mandarín con dominio avanzado del español

Este estudio modeló dinámicamente los contornos nucleares del español producido por 16 estudiantes mandarines y 9 hablantes nativos de español con un corpus de habla obtenido mediante una discourse completion task. Las oraciones en investigación incluyeron declarativas (foco amplio, categórica y correctivo) e interrogativas absolutas (informativas, confirmatorias y pregunta de apéndice). Los estudiantes chinos (a) no lograron distinguir la declaración categórica de la declaración con foco correctivo utilizando configuraciones nucleares correctas; (b) produjeron los acentos nucleares más altos y sílabas átonas más bajas que los hispanohablantes; y (c) mostraron tonos de frontera incorrectos debido a la influencia de la acentuación de la palabra nuclear. Este estudio proporcionó datos empíricos a la teoría del aprendizaje prosódico de L2 al mostrar que las dificultades de la adquisición de la prosodia L2 no solo se derivan de las diferencias/similitudes entre la L1 y la L2 a nivel fonológico; los detalles fonéticos también son importantes. Además, dado que incluso los estudiantes con dominio avanzado del español mostraron dificultades en la prosodia, se requieren paradigmas adecuados de entrenamiento prosódico en la práctica docente.
