Rasgos y patrones melódicos de la interrogación en el habla de Santiago de Cuba
Keywords:
interrogative intonation, tonemes, intonational contours, melodic features, melodic patterns, structural phonological approachAbstract
The lack of scientific knowledge of the intonation used by the people who live in Santiago de Cuba, one of the more important population centers in Cuba, was a strong motivation for undertaking a study concerning this object. The current article provides the mean features found out as regards interrogative intonation. The phenomenon characterization has been made with a structural phonological approach, scarcely tried in the field of intonology, and with the help of digital instruments. The data provided have theoretical and practical value for the knowledge of the dialectal variation of Spanish pronunciation, and for the teaching of Spanish as mother tongue and as foreign language.Downloads
