Departing from the translation theories of the Russian linguist Roman Jakobson and the digressions of linguists George Steiner and Umberto Eco about the subject and, reflecting on Eco's contribution to Semiotics with his "open text" concept, this article focuses on the intra-linguistic aspect of translation and on the sender/receiver theory to point out the postcolonial writer/reader roles as cultural translators.Downloads
