Four Romance translations of Cicero’s De senectute (in Italian, in French, in Castilian and in Portuguese) written between 14th and 16th centuries constitute the corpus of this work. A comparative perspective is assumed in order to analyze some inter- and extra-sentence variants within the translated texts. The aim of this study is to determine in what extent different types of syntactic relationship in the examined target texts diverge or converge with the Latin source text. Special attention is paid to linguistic interference processes which motivate (Anti-)Latinate solutions in the translations.
