  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it at the same time being evaluated in another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor). REIRE actively checks for plagiarism using OURIGINAL platform.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.

  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in [sorry, this link is out of order at the moment] Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

All manuscripts should be submitted following the participation process criteria, and the guidelines below.

Manuscripts that do not adhere to these guidelines will not be reviewed.

  1. Authorship. Author's name will use the following criteria.
    • For composed names: e.g.  Peter Paul, will be Peter-P.
    • For composed names with Mary: e.g. Mary Jane, will be Mary-Jane.
    • For composed surnames: e.g. Vila i Prades will be, Vila-Prades.
    • The authors should point the identifier out in the field ORCID of their profile, inside the journal platform.
  2. In case of the manuscript is the result of a founded project, its references should be pointed out at the end of the article.
  3. Manuscript types and sections (research, innovation or methodological articles):
    1. Title. Write the title in Catalan, Spanish and British English.
    2. Abstract. This should have a length of between 150 and 200 words. The abstract presents the introduction, method, results and discussion (include these words at the beginning of each section in the abstract). Write the abstract in Catalan, Spanish and British English. It can not include bibliographic references or footnotes.
    3. Keywords. You may choose between three and six words or terms. Where possible, take these from the European Education Thesaurus. Write the keywords in Catalan, Spanish and British English, using sentence style lower case, and separate each word or term from the previous item by a comma (,).
    4. Document body. This should have a length of between 10 and 20 pages, including figures (photographs, graphics, etc.), tables, appendices and references. Use the font Times New Roman in 12-point type, typing in single-spaced lines with top and bottom margins of 2.5 cm, and left- and right-hand margins of 3.0 cm. This section can be written in Catalan, Spanish or British English, but in any case the language must be revised before you submit the manuscript.
    5. Note that this type of articles have a typical structure: an introduction, which describes the author’s rationale, followed by sections on objectives, methods, results and discussion.
    6. References. This section cites the articles and books the author drew upon to plan the study and support the discussion. Do not include any articles or books that weren’t used (see Formal aspects and writing style, below).
    7. You may include references to complementary materials published as research products or innovation projects, such as graphic material, images, videos, computer software etc.
  4. Formal aspects and writing style
    • Parts or sections
      • Number your headings.
      • Use boldface for the headings and italics for subheadings, but do not use boldface or underlining in the middle of your text.
      • In-text references to works, in-text quotations and citations in the
    • References section
      • Please, use last version of APA Style.
      • In-text references to works should be in brackets and consist of the author’s name followed by the year of publication, separated by a comma, like this: (García del Dujo, 2000). When more than one work is referred to, order the works alphabetically and separate them by semicolons, like this: (García Carrasco, 2000; García del Dujo, 2001). If one author is responsible for more than one work in the same year, order the works like this: (García del Dujo, 2000a, 2000b).
      • In-text quotations of under 40 words may start and finish on the same line as the text just before and after them. In other words, you do not need to put them in a free-standing block of text. These quotations should be written between double quotes and followed by the reference to the work, as in the example above, but you should also indicate the page number where the quoted text is to be found, like this: (García del Dujo, 2000, p.18). However, if the quotation is longer than 40 words, put it in a free-standing block of text, without quote marks. Set the text in 10-point type with a left-hand margin of 1 cm. At the end of the quotation, indicate the page number like this: (p. 52).
      • Finally, citations in the References section of your manuscript should follow the guidelines of the American Psychological Association. The following examples show you how to cite six different kinds of publications.

        ** How to cite articles:

    • Notes
      • Footnotes must be numerated consecutively at the end of each page and should only be used for observations or comments, never for bibliographic references.
    • Tables and figures
      • Tables and figures should follow the guidelines of the American Psychological Association. Insert tables in an appropriate position within the text, accompanied by their correlative numeration and title.
      • The title (‘Table 1’; ‘Table 2’, etc.) should be written in the upper left-hand margin, and the italicized subtitle below it should use sentence style capitalization and be brief, clear and self-explanatory. Source references and/or notes should be written in the lower left-hand margin. Note that only horizontal lines should be marked, and only when these separate columns or variables headlines. Consider the following example.

        Table 1

        Characteristics of participants

        -----------------------------------------
                        Children     Teenagers
                       ------------ ------------
         Treatment       n  %         n  %
         ----------------------------------------
         Yes             2   40       4   50
         No              3   60       4   50
         ----------------------------------------
         Total           5  100       8  100
        ------------------------------------------
      • The same general guidelines should be followed with figures (graphics, charts, photographs, maps, etc.). Consider the following example,

        Figure 1

        Map of Spain

The source or any explanatory text should be located at the bottom of the figure.
    • Writing of articles must follow the Criteria of the University of Barcelona (https://www.ub.edu/cub/criteris.php)
