This article provides an overview of the various translations and versions of the book Cuore by Edmondo de Amicis in the Hispanic field, following the chronological variants of the Spanish-language editions, from the translation authorized by the author, published by Hermenegildo Giner, till other editions of late twentieth century. The critical comparative study reveals the intentions of each translator according to the time and interpretative transformations of this book, depending on the cultural circumstances in Italy and Spain throughout time.
