About the Journal

Enseñanza de las Ciencias Sociales (ISSN 1579-2617) is a journal promoted by the departments of social sciences' education of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Universitat de Barcelona, and the Asociación Universitaria de Profesorado de Didáctica de las Ciencias Sociales, and is dedicated to research in the didactics of Geography, History, and Social Sciences in general.

The objectives proposed are as follows: to disseminate the research works carried out in the didactics of Social Sciences, to delve deeper into the theoretical and practical basis of these works, and to present new lines and new research topics in the field of Social Sciences. All this aims to contribute to the foundation and improvement of the teaching of Social Sciences.

ECCSS aims to be an open, plural journal that fosters constructive debate. It welcomes all individuals who contribute to deepening and expanding knowledge and who are willing to be part of our scientific community.

The scope of this journal is international, but this does not prevent its priority from becoming a reference publication in Spain and Latin America.

ECCSS is a scientific journal published annually since 2002, currently only in digital format. Starting in 2025, the publication will be biannual.

The texts submitted for evaluation are published, once they have successfully passed the double-blind peer review process, in strict order of acceptance by the journal.

ECCSS is indexed in: LATINDEX, DICE, RESH, ISOC, CARHUS PLUS (GENCAT), DIALNET, MIAR, CBUC, ULRICH’S, RACO, DULCINEA, IN-RECS, REDINED, OEI, and REDALYC
