Abstract

The increasingly complex nature of the arts in our technological context demands new practices to link education and art in contemporary environments that meet the needs of today’s teachers and students. Ricard Huerta’s Arte para primaria [“Art for Primary Education”] invites the teacher to enjoy the arts from a pedagogical point of view and use new strategies in the primary education art classroom. Written by Ricard Huerta, professor of Art Education at the Universitat de València (UV) and artist, teacher and researcher at the UV’s Institut Universitari de la Creativitat i Innovacions Educatives (Institute of Creativity and Educational Innovation, IUCIE), the book encourages us to immerse ourselves in a space that exceeds the limits of traditional art programmes and make more vigorous and permeable contributions to the classroom through the transformative concept of a “vibrant curriculum”.
