UNA DEUDA HISTÓRICA: FORMACIÓN DE INTÉRPRETES PARA LA JUSTICIA EN OAXACA

Abstract

This paper analyzes some aspects of the interpreters training process of Mexican national languages carried out in 2012 in the capital of the State of Oaxaca where speakers of 17 linguistic variants converged. The content and the process implemented between civil society, officials of the National Institute of Indigenous Languages (INALI) and members of the academy is analyzed. An overview of the type of training is presented with data obtained through a (self)-reflective ethnography carried out during a doctoral investigation where videos of the training participants were recorded, surveys at the beginning and at the end of the training as well as interviews with participant students and other actors involved were carried out.
