This article is about the implementation of a didactic design with an intentional use of IT that within the context of the importance of ICT today, particularly in Higher Education with the aim of enhancing teaching and learning in college students since we have noticed that these resources are not always used within an appropriate teaching design. This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of Embryohistology teaching with the use of ICT through a comparative study of the results in two courses. It is a mixed research with a descriptive non-experimental design based on a case study which collected information from students about teaching with the use of ICT and their assessments on its effectiveness for the development of their leanings to continue with a comparative analysis between the academic results of the courses where it was implement and three previous courses where it was not. Students assessed the use of this teaching design as positive. It was also regarded as effective for the development of their learning not only because they improved it but also because meaningful and collaborative learning was fostered through the ability of linking theory with practice, regulating their learning, improving cognitive autonomy and working collaboratively to achieve better results. According to the comparison between the two courses on academic learning outcomes we can conclude that results are similar and important differences resulted when comparing these results with the courses that did not experience the implementation. Information collected from the study showed that the didactic design was effective to improve learning in students of Embryohistology.Downloads
