About key words

Papers submitted for any of the three sections of TEISEL must be accompanied by three to five key words.

"Articles about Resources and Tools" section

"Articles about Research with Technologies" section

This section includes articles that, within the framework of research on the teaching, learning, acquisition, or assessment of second languages, describe how a given technology works. Here, "Technology" is understood in a broad sense: as a resource, tool, corpus, etc.

The objective is to disseminate the possibilities and limitations that a certain technology presents for research, based on one's own research experience developed through a project, a specific study, or a doctoral thesis. Therefore, priority will be given to articles on the use of technologies for research over those that focus on technologies for the teaching, learning, acquisition, or assessment of second languages.

Articles must include the following content/sections:

  • title (see "Languages of titles, abstracts and key words")
  • abstracts of 200-300 words each (see "Languages of titles, abstracts and key words")
  • 3-5 key words (see "About key words")
  • cited references (see "Format")

As a guide, the article should address the following questions:

  • the research in which the technology in question has been used (objectives, methodology, etc.)
  • the technology used: justification for the choice of this particular technology, description of the use of this technology to achieve the specific objectives of the research (data collection, processing obtaining results, etc.), details on the accessibility of the technology (if it is free, subject to a fee, or with some type of intermediate accessibility)
  • the type of experiment or work: research results (with special emphasis on how the technology has contributed to achieving them); discussion of the results; recommendations for future research with this technology

Length (including bibliography): between 7,500 and 10,000 words.

"Reviews" section

This section includes reviews of publications (books, proceedings, thematic portals, etc.) related to the use of technologies for research on the teaching, learning, acquisition, or assessment of second languages

Reviews will be accompanied by between three and five key words. See "Languages of titles, abstracts and key words" and "About key words".

Length: between 2,000 and 4,000 words
