José Álvarez Junco (Viella, Vall d’Aran, 1942) catedràtic d’Història en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Entre 1992 i 2000 va ocupar la càtedra Príncep d’Astúries de la Universitat Tufts (Boston) i va dirigir el seminari d’Estudis Ibèrics del Centre d’Estudis Europeus de la Universitat Harvard. Director del Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales. En 2002 va rebre el Premi Nacional d’Assaig que concedeix el Ministeri de Cultura. Entre la seva obra volem destacar El “Emperador del Paralelo”. Alejandro Lerroux y la demagogia populista (1990), i Mater
Dolorosa. La idea de España en el siglo XIX (2001).

Adrian Shubert, York University (Toronto), York University de Toronto

Adrian Shubert (1953) és un historiador e hispanista canadenc, catedràtic d’Història a la York University de Toronto. És autor d’obres com Hacia la revolución. Orígenes sociales del movimiento obrero en Asturias, 1860-1934 (1984), A Social History of Modern Spain (1990), així com d’una monumental biografia del general Baldomero Espartero, Espartero, el Pacificador (2018), entre d’altres.
