Abstract

Due to the adaptation to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), all universities have had to evolve their pedagogical model in response to new needs and new learning strategies. This is also the case of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). The new educational model of the UOC, based in a teaching process that takes place entirely through the Internet and pays special attention to the learning activity of the students, has had to rework many of the teaching strategies undertaken so far in the specific context of the courses. In this article we explain how we made this change in the case of the quantitative courses at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the UOC, including some tutorials very focused on materials (GES) and a few guidelines specifically focused on the continuous assessment of the student activity (G-PAC). Given their evaluation and training approach, we explain how we designed these guides around the continuous assessment, and how we have integrated both in the learning process and in the virtual classroom.
