El peso de la Educación Física en el horario escolar
The weight of Physical Education in school hours

Physical Education, curriculum, motor commitment level, school breakAbstract
The study of the levels of physical activity practice has become more relevant during the last decades due to its relation with health. For that reason, the curricular area of Physical Education, as well as school break, cannot be pushed to the sidelines, constituting appropriate spaces for achieving the levels recommended by international institutions. The article aims to provide an insight into the weight that Physical Education must have within the school timetable, supported by recent developments in the field of neuroscience, related to the benefits produced by physical activity in people. We conclude the importance of this curriculum area to battle sedentariness among students, betting on a reconceptualization of timetables in terms of time and space.
