The creation of a show by means of a theatrical discussion around a kitchen table in secondary school

This article describes the application of the Kitchen Table, a theatrical discussion, with 12 teenagers from the Vallbona d’Anoia Secondary School who take part in the Performing Arts and Dance optional course. The teacher-researcher uses this technique to create shows with the students, based on their testimonies. The Kitchen Table offered these youngsters the opportunity to go a step further in verbalizing their thoughts, to apply them to the creation of a show as a final product. It is, therefore, a metacognitive process in which the adolescent seeks his or her identity within the group.
